Personal Lines Insurance

Coverage for Homes That Don’t Fit the Standard Market

Not every home is a fit for standard insurance carriers — and that’s where we come in.

We help independent agents place personal lines risks through excess & surplus lines (E&S) carriers that specialize in hard-to-insure properties. Whether your client owns a seasonal/secondary home, a rental property with prior losses, or an Airbnb in the Smokies, we can help you secure the coverage they need.

Our Personal Lines Programs

Our specialty programs focus on properties that need extra flexibility — due to location, condition, usage, or underwriting history.

When to Use Our Programs

  • The home is older, but has updated systems (wiring, plumbing, roof)

  • The property has a history of claims

  • The client has coverage lapses or unusual occupancy

  • The home is used for income (short-term or long-term rental)

  • The home is located in a high-risk or rural area

  • A standard carrier has non-renewed or declined the risk

We help you keep your clients covered — even when others say no.

Personal Lines FAQ

  • What makes a personal property risk “non-standard”?

Some common red flags for standard markets include older homes, high-value dwellings, prior claims, vacant properties, unusual construction, or rental/short-term rental use. These are often a better fit for surplus lines carriers.

  • Can you insure Airbnb or short-term rental properties?

Yes. We have markets that specialize in short-term rental coverage, including Airbnb, VRBO, and vacation homes. These policies address guest liability and rental income exposures that most standard homeowners policies exclude.

  • What about vacant homes or properties between tenants?

We can place coverage for vacant dwellings, whether they're between leases, under renovation, or held for sale. Be sure to tell us how long the home will be vacant so we match it to the right carrier.

  • Can I get landlord coverage for a rental property?

Yes. We provide dwelling fire (DP) policies and other landlord-specific coverage for 1–4 family rental units.

  • Do you require high volume to work with you?

Not at all. There are no production minimums — whether it’s your first E&S personal lines risk or your fiftieth, we’re happy to help.
